Tak gi shooting Thaipusam T___T

I can't go to the Thaipusam event because my flu haven't subsided...Dah la trimester baru start, takut kalau pegi nnt lagi kena demam kang susah pulak... n___n; Shoot limau mandarin je hari ni...ntah betul ke tak teknik aku pakai ni...sifu-sifu sila tunjuk ajarkuuu...
Underexpose kasi nampak translucency dia...
Try pakai spot metering...

almost full...it's very typical for looking quite flat because of the front lighting illumination from the earth...there's not much details accentuated in the craters with this sort of lighting...
I'm thinking of starting to shoot the complete moon phases starting this Febuary...

planning to go either the hari wilayah festival at dataran merdeka or thaipusam at batu caves...i'm still newbie, the later might be challenging but maybe a great opportunity to learn something great...hmmm...

I went to the FloraFest Parade with my lil bro, Afif. Awal gila bangun, lepas subuh bertolak pegi. Mmg ramai betul org, yg photographers pun ramai. My shooting port was right in front of the Palace of Justice, ramai org port situ, so kena bergasak sikit nak cari ruang utk shoot...most of the shots i got either blurred sbb terbody contact ngan org sekeliling atau ter block oleh row depan...lain kali kena datang awal la next time kalau pegi shooting kat event-event ni...ni pun kira first time dtg ke event utk photography n___n; shoot sampai habis CF, itu pun pakai SQ je n___n; ni je yg kira ok la yg aku rasa...pls give me your comments and critics so that i can improve my photography n____n v Thanks for viewing...

Another shot of the moon...
|

I shot the moon again but this time I bracketed the focus...working from infinity I slowly turn the focus down bit by bit and take a shot...This is the sharpest I can get out of the 25 years old lens...I can sharpen it more with unsharp mask but...I like more this way...Next time I'll try to shoot during the golden hour where the sky is still dark blue...Can't wait to shoot the next full moon...
Maybe later I plan to shoot the whole 30 phase when I got the manual focusing thing nailed down right...

These are some miscellaneous shots that I got from past weeks...at first I was like...ah these shots are crappy...but after some tweaking in photoshop...hey, these are not bad...it's true what pros say...digital photography is 50% shooting, 50% photoshop...but, always remember, you can't turn poo into gold... n___n;
Oh and...Circular Polarizing Filter ROCKS!!!

this was not shot in thailand...
and...this was not shot in japan...
but...i wish to travel and see the world someday...someday... n____n v

The Moon

Shot the moon using my dad's 25 years old DANUBIA 400mm lens with the E500...so it's equivalent in 35mm is...800mm!!!
I realized as I was compositing the shot the moon position shifts quite fast...after 1 second the shifting of the position is quite obvious through the viewfinder...
This shot was blurry...but I still like it...I want to practice more using this supertelephoto lens and how to manual focus better...

I took some photos of a "hanging garden" in my house...these plants grew in the gutters of the roof...my mom asked me remove them ages ago...lama-lama dah biasa tgk nampak ok pulak...so we let it grow...tak sangka pulak it's a flowering plant... n___n;
